Julebord 2017: Christmas dinners with friends

It's Christmas time! It's "julebord" time, time for cosy Christmas dinners with dear friends, enjoying good food and having a good time together, gathering all together once more before everyone's heading off for Christmas holidays to various places. In this period we gathered twice with our friends for Christmas dinner.

25th of November:
Our first Christmas dinner with Paolo and Marina, Ginta and Hadrien we hosted at our place. Yes, the 25th of November was pretty early, not even the 1st Advent, but there was no later date until Christmas in which we were all available. Anyway, there's nothing wrong in getting in Christmas mood a bit earlier :-)

On the menu: raclette!

And not to be missed: the gifts for our "Secret Santa" game.

At the end of the game, I had won this pot of hot chocolate powder...

...and Marco was the owner of a mini bottle selection of port wines :-)

In playing mood: after our "Secret Santa" we continued with "Take it easy".

2nd of December:
For this second julebord beginning of December we gathered with our dear friends Sonia & Hugo, Ginta & Hadrien and Ines & Ricardo. It was so great to be all together again, because Sonia and Hugo we hadn't seen since their wedding in October and Ines living again full-time and Ricardo half-time in Portugal aren't easy to see and meet often either. This Christmas dinner was perfect to catch up again. What a pity, though, that such events always pass too quickly.
This year it was Ines and Ricardo who had invited to their place in Oslo for the dinner.

What do you think is on the menu if a Poruguese couple invites for dinner? Delicious bacalhau - of course! - and many other yummy portuguese specialties :-)

The French among us, Hadrien, was reponsible for the cheese selection that evening.

And also here: the "Secret Santa" gifts - it's tradition to play this game and is a guaranteed fun factor! I forgot to take pictures of our "trophies", but I was (successfully) playing for a sports drinking bottle and a quick-drying sports towel. Marco was the winner of a little game.
