Wall paintings

Sometimes wall paintings can really be very nice. Have a look at what you might find when walking through Oslo.

Parks & Gardens

One very special park is surely Vigelandsparken. It is such a phantastic and huge park that it deserved its own post (see previous posts). So here below you'll just find the pictures of some green spots somewhere around in Oslo.

Bygdøy - the peninsula of museums

Bygdøy is a peninsula on the western side of Oslo where you find several of Oslo’s most popular museums. It is mainly a (wealthy) residential area, but in addition to the museums Bygdøy is also a popular recreational area during summer. Below just a few pictures of the nice houses (I simply do love those coloured wooden houses).
Also the Royal family appreciates this exclusive location and got a seaside villa here.

A trip to Hovedøya

Hovedøya is one of several small islands 10 minutes by boat off the coast of Oslo in the Oslo Fjord with little beaches and the ruin of a monastery looted and burned down in 1532. Next to its small beach it is very nice for a picnic or a BBQ on a warm summer day.
