Glühwein and Currywurst

It's Christmas time! And thus it's the time of Christmas markets.
Going to Christmas markets is a tradition for every German. It's a MUST to have at least one Glühwein (hot spiced red wine = mulled wine) before Christmas, either with friends or with family and even better combined with some traditional Christmas food like... (too many to list here).
And guess what: even Oslo hosts it's own Christmas market annually on Rådhusplassen, the main square at the Oslo harbour.
So, in order to attend to our duties as Germans, Jana, Moritz and I decided to meet up after work and go to the Oslo Christmas market to have the obligatory "Glühwein" together with a nice German "Currywurst" (German fried/grilled sausage with curry-sauce).

Of course they sell and expose Norwegian products, arts and crafts and also food (elg burger, risgrøt...) on the market, but also a looooot of German traditional articles and food. Many of the sellers and exposers are actually from Germany. That's why you find real German mulled wine, sausages and especially Printen and Lebkuchen (kind of gingerbread) etc. on this market.
Consequently, the market attracts a lot of Germans being in town. Today, when we went, the market was actually quite empty, but I remember last year the market being crowded by Germans.

Unfortunately, it was freezingly cold this evening, so our meal cooled down quicker than we could eat. Since eating a roll with gloves isn't working too well, our hands were totally frozen by the time we finished. You might ask yourself why we didn't get more hand-warming Glühwein then. Well, the answer is quite simply: 60 NOK (≈ 8 €) per little cup!
So, we didn't make it a long get together tonight and split up quite soon, each going in his direction back home.
