Moving to new offices

Soooooooo sad: our office has moved! We're no longer in our beautiful, charming office in the city centre :-(
After 5 years in the office in Prinsens gate, right in the heart of the city centre of Oslo, the rental contract expired and our boss didn't want to renew it - for reasons that I simply can't understand (except for the one of the price).

Our old office was so perfectly located. I could perfectly cycle there every morning and also the connection to the airport and train station was fantastic. Suppliers, clients and our tour guides could easily drop by.  Furthermore, it was a beautiful, light office in an old/antique style with nice, old wooden floors, stucco works all over which gave it its charm.
But end of February it was time to say goodbye to this nice office. On Thursday 28th of February we all closed down at noon and started packing.
Also on Friday we remained closed to finalise the moving. The moving company came early on Friday morning with two people taking everything down to the street and another three guys driving everything to our new office to unload all the stuff there. While the majority of our colleagues was taking care of everything that needed to be done in the new office, I had remained with one colleague and a couple of trainees to pack the last things in the old office (mainly the archive) and to have an eye on the two guys from the moving company.

Packing in the old office (Thursday & Friday):
My workstation - everything packed... :-(

FIT department of Terra Nova (me, Elisa and trainees) and Haman Scandinavia

Terra Nova - group department office
(where Franck & Stéphanie were sitting with trainees - and me before moving over to the FIT department in 2011)

Scandinavian Incentives' office

Authentic Scandinavia's office

Accounting department's office

The corridor & the former conference room

Kitchen - place of the daily, common lunch preparation

The little apartment at the back of the office which was used when we had staff from Stockholm coming over

Lunch time on Thursday - pizza!

And this is where we are now after the moving on Friday: a modern open space office, in a pretty new building, outside Oslo city centre, in Helsfyr.

The big "open space" with all offices together: Terra Nova group department (Franck & Stéphanie), Terra Nova FIT department (me & Co.), Haman Scandinavia and Authentic Scandinavia. Scandinavian Incentives having their own, separate office in the back.

Today I (and the others) had my first day in this new office. Well, what shall I say. It's modern and that's it. There is that nice window front all along the side and a much better equipped kitchen. But for there rest there's nothing special about it. No charm. Simple. Outside city centre. At least I have a bus going from close to where I live. However, I now have to pay a monthly ticket (at the precious amount of 630 NOK, approx. 85€!) - no more cycling I think for which I didn't pay a cent. And that better equipped kitchen is for nothing as the system we had that always two persons per week were responsible for shopping and cooking for everyone in the office will no longer be continued. I hope our boss finds a good solution how to handle the lunch as the last thing I wanna care about when getting home late from work is to think about my lunch the next day...
Well, we'll see. Now we're there in that new office and that's the way it is and will be. And hopefully soon we managed to unpack all the masses of moving boxes we still have around.
At least everything (that is pcs, phones, internet etc) was properly working this morning :-)

So let's re-start business - just from a new location!
