That trip was just fantastic! So full of impressions. I really loved it.
We started in Málaga, continued after two nights on to Granada, stayed there another two nights, had then one night in Córdoba and further 3 nights in Sevilla before taking the flight back to Oslo from Málaga.
Each place in itself is worth a long stay as it offers so much to see. So many beautiful things we saw in each of those four places which is why I will (and due to the amount of pictures taken HAVE TO) dedicate one separate post per city. Starting with Málaga...
Málaga - 11.-13.05.2013:
A stroll through town:
A visit of the Picasso Museum:
Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take any pictures; the below is the only one of the many fantastic works we secretly managed to get a shot of.
Santa Iglesia Catedral Basílica de la Encarnación - the cathedral of Málaga:
La Noche en blanco - Nuit blanche in Málaga with a concert on the town square.
Only a few of the many fantastic places to eat or have a drink (or both):
The Teatro Romano, dating back to the 1st century BC, at the foot of Mount Gibralfaro near the Alcazaba:
From the Teatro Romano, a path leads up to the Alcazaba, a palatial fortification built by the Hammudid dynasty in the early 11th century. This is the best-preserved "alcazaba" (from Arabic meaning "citadel") in Spain.
Following the road from the Alcazaba, the way leads to the top of the mountain towards the Castillo de Gibralfaro, offering a fantastic view over the town, its harbour and its Plaza de Toros (bullring):
Only the Italians among you will recognise those playing cards exposed here :-)
In the morning of the 13th of May, we had a very quick stop at the city's Playa de la Malagueta beach...
...right before leaving town and heading towards Granada.
To be continued with post Andalucía (2): Granada.
