14th of May 2015: our 12th anniversary - celebrated with a trip to Copenhagen :-)
I had already been to Copenhagen a couple of times, but for Marco it was the first time. We had four wonderful days also thanks to mainly fantastic weather!

Thursday, 14th May:
Arrival by plane in the early morning. We started our city break with a stroll through town and along "Strøget", a pedestrian shopping street in the city centre.
Charlottenborg Castle, the official gallery of the Royal Danish Academy of Arts.
Nyhavn, a 17th-century canal with old boats and characterized by a waterfront full of colorful houses with restaurants, bars and bistros - what a beautiful place! So beautiful that I think we had in total some 200 pictures just of this area - with various daylights, from all sorts of perspectives, and with different camera settings... simply a perfect place for Marco to play with his camera and try out different functions and picture modes :-) Here just a selection.
...the Royal Ship...
...Amalienborg Castle, the Royal residence, with Frederiks Church in the background...
...Christianshavns Canal...
...with view on the tower of the Vor Frelser's Kirke (Our Saviour's Church)...
...towards the "Black Diamond", the modern waterfront extension to the Royal Danish Library's old buildings...
Back on firm ground.
Copenhagen Town Hall.
The old buildings of the Royal Danish Library, at the back side of the Black Diamond.
Anniversary dinner at "Det Lille Apotek", Copenhagen's oldest restaurant (from 1720). Very nice and affordable traditional cuisine! We went together with another couple, Mónica and Pedro, we know from Oslo who had the same idea of a Copenhagen city trip and who we had met by accident upon arrival at the train station.
Walking around in town.
No privacy around the church's tower :-) Seems the guy has no fear of being spotted by good-zoom-camera equipped tourists. But at least he has his pants on!
Öresundsbron - Öresund Bridge, a railway and motorway bridge across the Öresund straight connecting Denmark with Sweden.
Around the Opera House.
The Marble Church with the biggest cupola in Scandinavia.
At Kastellet, one of the best preserved star fortresses in Northern Europe, constructed in the form of a pentagram with bastions at its corners and a windmill in one of them.
Who doesn't know her: the Little Mermaid, famous landmark of Copenhagen?!
End of this long day with a really good pizza in a nice Italian restaurant - recommended by an Italian living in Copenhagen! So if he says this is the best pizza in town then you can trust it. Thanks, Luca, for taking us there :-) But damn, why can't I remember the name of that place now??? Guess too much time passed between our visit and posting this blog entry.
Saturday, 16th of May:
A rather gray and rainy day we used to visit Kronborg Castle in Helsingør, on the northeast coast of the island of Zealand in Eastern Denmark. The Renaissance castle is internationally known as Elsinore, the castle where William Shakespeare's play Hamlet is set. It was added to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Site in 2000.
Botanical Garden
National Gallery - no photos allowed inside... of course!
Rosenborg Castle, Royal residence until beginning of the 18th century and now hosting the Royal Treasury.
On board the ferry DFDS Seaways leaving Copenhagen harbour and heading back to Oslo.
Monday, 18th May:
After a night on board, we cruised through the Oslofjord before arriving in Oslo at 9.30 a.m.
Four special days to be remembered!!! Bacio bacio e grazie amore :-)
