Christmas market at the St. Mary's Church with the "Fernsehturm" (Berlin TV Tower) in the background
The first (but certainly not last) "Glühwein" :-)
Berlin Cathedral
Sea of flowers placed in front of the French Embassy by the Brandenburg Gate after the Paris attacks in November
The Brandenburg Gate
Christmas market at the Gendarmenmarkt with the Neue Kirche (lit. = New Church), aka German Church...
...and the "Konzerthaus" (concert hall).
Breakfast time!
Walking along the East Side Gallery, a 1.3 km long section of the Berlin Wall located near the centre of Berlin in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg along the Spree river.
Time for proper German "Brauhaus" (brewery) dinner!
Sunday, 06/12:
Gedächtniskirche (Memorial Church) on the broad and long Ku(rfürsten)damm (one of the most famous avenues in Berlin)
Whoever those guys are, but seems they were happy to be on the picture!
In the evening we went to see the entertainment show "The Wyld - out of this world" at the show palace Friedrichstadtpalast, the biggest theatre stage in the world. While we were in Budapest in October the girls gave me the tickets for this show as my birthday present :-)
They girls know how much I like musicals and dance shows - fantastic present!
Great and totally crazy show!
Of course it was now allowed to take pictures during the show, so here some pictures that I took from the website of Friedrichstadt-Palast.

Monday, 07/12:
Last day in Berlin.
One last round at the Christmas market at the Gendarmenmarkt...
...to get some more of this super delicious, freshly baked and warm "Baumkuchen" :-)
Baumkuchen
is a German variety of spit cake. The
characteristic rings that appear when sliced resemble tree rings, and give the
cake its German name, Baumkuchen, which literally translates to "tree
cake".
After a last round of "Glühwein" we headed back to the hotel as Jana, Audrey and Sarah had to catch their flights back to Oslo/Tromsø, Amsterdam and Düsseldorf.
Me, however, I stayed one more night in Berlin to stay with my cousin Bene and his family. When the girls had left I went to my cousin's place in the district of Prenzlauer Berg. That evening also our English uncle Peter - who currently lives in South Africa - joined us as he happened to be in Berlin for business exactly that day. We had dinner together and a nice evening exchanging news. Good to see Peter and Bene & Co. again!
Exceptionally I didn't take many pictures during this trip. Maybe because that totally greyish weather didn't motivate me to take just grey no-contrast pictures. This is why basically all pictures in this post are from Audrey. Thanks/merci pour tes photos, Audrey!
