Sarah in Oslo and Sweden

Friday 28/04:
My dear friend Sarah came (again) for a visit to Oslo :-) It's already her 6th time in Oslo...at least!

Saturday 29/04:
The first day we were just enjoying the sunny weather with a stroll through town, starting in Grünerløkka...

...to the Oslo Opera House...

...via the quarter of Bjørvika...
...to Sørenga...

...and back to the "Barcode"...

...over the pedestrian bridge "Akrobaten"...

...and back home.

Sunday 30/04:
Sarah had already been so many times in Oslo that she already knows the city quite well. No more need for her to do the classical sightseeing. Instead we used the long 1st of May weekend with the Monday being off from work to rent a car and discover the coast along the Eastern side of the Oslofjord and of Western Sweden.
Our first stop is in Skjærhalden, nearly 2 hours South of Oslo, in the archipelago right before the Swedish border.

The village being quite deserted on the public holiday, we went on a little walk following the coastal path "kyststien".

An hour later we continued along the coast for about 2 hours where we arrived in the late afternoon in a little town called Smögen, located on an island in the archipelago. Here we had booked an apartment on AirBnb for a night. And it was soooo cosy :-) Just lovely the place!

An aperitif with a bottle of sparkling (offered by our super nice host Amie), a beer, crackers, some cold cuts and sweets to enjoy the sun, the beautiful place and the good time in lovely company, the time out of town and off from work to relax.

In the earlier evening we went to discover the surrounding, the little but beautiful fishing town of Smögen and went for dinner at a restaurant.

Monday 01/05:
Sarah started the days with a little run in the morning sun.
After breakfast at our apartment we had to check out and returned to Marco's favourite spot of the coloured houses (he took some hundreds of pictures of it) :-) And I agree: it IS beautiful!

Then we left for a walk through the rocky archipelago of Smögen.

With view on the town.

Smögen harbour.

On our way back to Oslo we stopped at Fjällbacka, another town along the Swedish border, just 40 km north of Smögen. Very nice also this one.

Monday 02/05:
Back in Oslo. I had the day off. We used the morning for a run together. A couple of weeks later I'd be running the 10 km of the eco-trail run in Oslo and together with Sarah I wanted to check out the route of the trail to know what I have to face on 18th of May.

Aker Brygge is always nice to enjoy the sun in the afternoon.

These were some wonderful days, in stunning places, with such relaxation and with my dear friend Sarah :-) Thank you for coming over! Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
