Amore mio, Dario & Virgina in Oslo

Che bello!!!

On Friday 01 May I had some visitors coming to Oslo: amore mio with his brother Dario and his girlfriend Virginia. Unfortunately they stayed only for 3 days. But most important for me was to finally see il mio tesoro again :-)

At Akershus Festning:

In Frognerparken:

At the famous Fram-Museum:

Here you’ll find the world’s most famous polar ship, the "Fram", from 1892. She is the strongest wooden ship ever built and still holds the records for sailing farthest north and farthest south, i. e. to the Arctic and Antarctic. The ship is displayed in its original condition with interior and objects perfectly preserved.
The museum tells the story of the Norwegian polar expeditions, who also represent international history in the field of polar exploration: Nansen's journey across the Polar ocean and his attempt to go to the North Pole, Sverdrup's expedition to Greenland, a voyage where more than 200,000 sqm of unchartered land was discovered, and Amundsen's journey to the South Pole, the discovery of the Northwest Passage and his attempt to reach the North Pole by plane and airship.

At the Vikingship Museum:

The Vikingship Museum presents great Vikingship discoveries from Gokstad, Oseberg and Tune as well as other finds from Viking tombs around the Oslo Fjord. It houses the world's two best-preserved wooden Vikingships built in the 9th century.

Walking through Bygdøy, the museums-peninsula which hosts many of Oslo's attractive museums. Easily reached with the local transport boat.

One afternoon we bought tickets to go on a little cruise through the Oslo fjord.

In front of the Royal Palace.

And while I was at work, Marco, Virginia and Dario went to see the opera.
