On Saturday we took the subway and within 15 minutes we had been out in the open, just 4 km outside the city centre in the fresh and green countryside enjoying a nice walk around the Sognsvann. You might remember it from a post with my uncle Jan taking me there for the first time in June.
In the Royal Garden, open and accessible for everyone:
Some cycling race starting below Akershus, down at the harbour:
Also with my father we made use of that fantastic Oslo Bysykkel service which brought us among others on a bike tour along the Akerselva, a river that starts at Mariadalsvannet and follows the urban area and through the city centre of Oslo.
Some coloured houses in Fredensborgveien:
And the mandatory visit including a picnic in Vigelandsparken:
Rounding off their stay with a nice dinner in a restaurant (MS Louise) on Aker Brygge accompanied by a wonderful sunset making Akershus appear in a beautiful light (which the picture below, though, didn't manage to capture):
It was really nice having you had both here in Oslo for a few days!
