Beach, sun, swimming, BBQ, friends... great Sunday

The weather forecast kept what it promised: sun sun sun and sun! Perfect conditions for a day on the beach.

After our excursion to Sognsvann yesterday, we went shopping for today. We had big plans for this sunday.
At 11:45 we - that is Jana, Germain, Moritz (a new trainee from Germany in the office) and I (Tim would join us later) - met at my place all with our bikes and headed off alongside the waterfront and the marina and yacht harbour to the peninsula Bygdøy, only a couple of kilometres away from my doorstep. The ride alone was already so beautiful. This will definitely become a great day!

We decided to approach the Paradisbukta (Paradise bay) and to settle down on some less crowded rocks off the main beach.

Though our way coming here led us partially through refreshing forest parts we felt already the heat of the sun and quickly jumped for a first swim into the refreshing water of the fjord!

After that we couldn't wait long to set up our engangsgrill (typical Norwegian "single-use-BBQ").

BBQ's ready: bon appétit!

Jana

Moritz - yes, it belongs this way! At least it had been taken this way upside down :-)

By the way, just as another example of how small the world is: Moritz is currently studying... guess where: at my university, International University of Bad Honnef!!! And now in Oslo, of all places in the world, two people from this little place meet. That's funny! Anyway, Moritz more or less just arrived here in Oslo and replaced Shauna at Authentic Scandinavia.

Well, it was about 7 p.m. when we had to make our way back home :-( We've spent hours out there at this wonderful place. I'd say we had a lot of fun, prepared a nice BBQ and enjoyed this whole day blessed with sun.
Such a pity that this day is over!
Hope summer continues still a bit like this. That would be more than fantastic. We'll see.
