Lofoten tour with my mum and Engelbert - Day 4

Monday 23/08: Mortsund - Utakleiv - Reine

It stopped raining. Great!

After breakfast we have the chance to finally meet Wenche. It was really nice to meet her personlly and she showed us around all "her" rorbuer and talked and explained us a lot. Really nice. After the visit of the Statles Rorbuer we thank you for everythings and say goodbye...

... and continue our way along the road...

... passing some nice beaches...

... until we arrive at Utakleiv, 25 km north of Mortsund and Leknes. Just fantastic, that place! The water, the colours, the sand...

Meet the locals:

Right next to the beach starts a path taking you on a walk around the top mountain.

Mum - the sheep!

A nice 1,5-hour walk along that path brings us back to our car and we continue southwards.

Skagsanden beach:

Passing another sculpture of Artscape Nordland. Hmmm, what is that for? Can it be used for anything? Can you climb it? Otherwise there's nothing too particular about this "piece of art" in the middle of nowhere.

So let's continue along the road.

We arrive in Reine, an authentic and high quality "rorbu" resort in the midst of a vibrant fishing village, surrounded by dramatic scenery, inviting you to a spectacular experience and offering rewarding surroundings.

We move in our lovely, charming rorbu (the right one):

"DO" - the loo :-)

I love the style and the atmosphere of that place. So charming and warm.
Before arrival we passed a supermarked so that we could prepare a delicious dinner (pasta) to be enjoyed with some nice wine.

And right from our living room window, we had a straight view to the mountains granting us a spectacular sun set. The pictures are repeating, but are to show the incredible play of light during the evening.

This is at 20:18...

... and the following ones about an hour later, in a time frame of about 10 minutes.

Obviously also this seabird enjoys the evening sun.

Just amazing!
Good night!
