"Siedler"-time :-)
From my last trip to Italy I brought some Italian goodies: wine, fresh and typical pasta and some bresaola. I wanted to invite somehow for dinner or at least use it for a nice occasion, together with friends.
So for this weekend Jana had offered her place for a gathering and so Audrey, Eric and I met up at her place on Saturday 28th of May.
The evening started well as Jana welcomed us with some drinks, some caipirinhas :-)
While waiting for Eric to arrive as well, I had already preparted the starter: bresaola with mozzarella, rucola and parmigiano.
As main dish, Jana created a chicken-vegetable-feta dish for the oven and had again her self-made onion bread, warm and fresh from the oven as well :-)
For dessert it looks like we invited further people. Without having spoken too much about it, both Jana and Eric made cakes. Jana made a lemon cake... and Eric couldn't decide between two receipes and even brought along two options: pear cake and (another) lemon tarte. So we ended up with 3 whole cakes for the four of us, makes 3/4 cake per person!!!
As we needed time to "work" on all the dessert, we extended the evening by many hours by playing "the Settlers of Catan". In total we played 3 rounds until it was already daylight again outside. This means that even by 4 a.m. we hadn't managed to get rid of all the food.
But in any case it was a great evening... despite me having missed the victory twice just by little :-)
