This little sunday's excursion was like Fornebu on the programme for something small to do and to discover in the close by Oslo area: a walk along the Alna river (Alnaelva).
Many years ago there had been a path along the river in the east of Oslo. However, the whole path had been renovated, bridges had been rebuilt and the whole area was cleaded up.
Supposedly a nice walk... which we wanted to try out.
So at 2 p.m. we met at the T-bane station "Brynseng" in the east of Oslo. Initially it was just Jana, Audrey and I who planned this little walk, but spontaneously Carla joined us as well :-)
We met Carla when Audrey and I flew up to Tromsø seeing my cousin and also Jana who was up visiting her boyfriend Helder. Helder one evening had invited for dinner and Carla was there as well with her boyfriend. She is originally from Italy, but plans to move soon to Oslo with her boyfriend. She actually just found a job and a flat and thus was for a couple of days in Oslo now.
It was nice that she could come along as well.
Anyways, we met at that station and started the walk.
It was nice, but nothing extreeeeeeeeeemly special, something good to get out of house. It wasn't even as long as we had expected and imagined from the descriptions.
However, we continued walking by foot to the city centre which took us a "while", but allowed us to discover areas of Oslo which I had never been to before.
We finally arrived at around 16:30 in Grünerløkka and stopped again at this "Café Cacao", a very nice cosy place for good sweets, chocolate and other snacks combined with a frozen chocolate or coffee :-)
We enjoyed the goodies out in the sunshine, listening to two girls playing violin and cello. Must have been there first time doing this, as they seemed a bit embarrassed... though they were really pleasant to listen to.
