Oslo military flight show with the Patrouille de France

On a beautiful Saturday beginning of last month, the Norwegian Air Force celebrated its 100th anniversary. In that occasion they had arranged a huge fly show over Oslo's harbour area, right next to where I live.

Already on the eve they had set up some exhibitions on Rådhusplassen where I passed on my way home from work.

Presenting also a full-scale model of Norway's new "kampfly" (fighter aircraft) F-35, weighing over 11 tons, being over 15 m long and 4,5 m high. With respect to today's F-16 fighter it's longer, carrying more weapons, and has a better accuracy. It's already active in the USA and the purchase of 52 fighters including weapons and equipment costs Norway 60 mrd. kroner (≈8,1 mrd. Euro).

The next day I met up with Audrey. It was a wonderful sunny day and we chose a spot for us at Aker Brygge to have a look at the flight show in the afternoon.

Over several ours we spent looking at the various types of planes the Norwegian Air Force presented in the sky, ranging from gliders over troop carriers and AWACS to jet aircrafts.
The taken pictures show some of the many planes the Norwegian Air Force had sent in the air:

the current fighter F-16

Piper Grasshopper 4-J & Cessna Birddog

Fairchild PT 19

Saab Safir

Spitfire

Dakota

AWACS (Boeing 707)

Vampires

T-33

P-3 Orion & C-130 Hercules & DA-20 Jet Falcon

and some helicpoters, the Sea King and the rescue helicopter Bell-412 demonstrating a rescue operation from water.

The absolute hightlight of that show and of that afternoon was certainly the Patrouille Acrobatique de France (the acrobatic aeronautics team of the French Air Force):

This was a really fantastic afternoon! I had never attended a flight show before, but it was certainly great to see!
After the show, Audrey and I strolled through a bit through Aker Brygge and its new part called Tjuvholmen, which was opened recently.

Great day!
