Summer weekend with Sarah in Oslo

Mid July: one more time Sarah came for a visit to Oslo. So cool :-)
And the best part: we had such a fantastic, sunny, warm weather. It was just incredible. The best weather to spend the time on the beach. So instead of sightseeing (which Sarah is basically all done with) we spend her 3 days in Oslo "beach-hopping". Every day another beach to sunbath, swim and chat :-)

Thursday, 18/07:
Sarah arrived in the late morning of that Thursday. However, I couldn't take that day off. So on the way from the airport Sarah stopped at our office to drop her luggage and then went on to the city centre for a stroll by herself. In the afternoon she came back to the office to pick up her luggage and we went together to my flat. As Sarah hadn't been to our new apartment since we had moved there in winter 2012, we went for a little walk to show her around the area we live in now, i.e. along the close by river.

Friday, 19/07:
Sarah is pretty much into jogging and running marathons. This requires of course discipline in regular training. So also in Oslo she couldn't drop her morning run - and so I joint her! But just for one round. I let her run the second round alone.
 Our neighbourhood in the morning:

That day I had actually taken off from work, so we had the entire day to enjoy cycling to the peninsula of Bygdøy to sunbath at Huk beach.

Marco was with us until the early afternoon. But Sarah and I couldn't get enough of that wonderful weather and still stayed until early evening.

We cycled back to town to go out for dinner together.

Saturday, 20/07:
Again beautiful weather - again a day at the beach. Today we took the local ferry to the main island in the Oslofjord, Hovedøya.

Great day - BBQ included :-)

Sunday, 21/07:
Sarah's last day. But she had her flight only in the evening. So plenty of time left to make it another beach day. This time we chose to discover Lindøya, another island in the Oslofjord.
It seemed we got a little lost on that little island as we couldn't right away find a spot for swimming, but we eventually found a calm spot. The island apparently isn't the most popular/touristic one, because it seemed the island was all ours as we hardly met any other people.

I guess we all would have loved to stay even the whole day there outside relaxing in the sun. But unfortunately we had to take the boat back to Oslo at around 1.30 p.m., because Sarah still had to catch her flight in the evening.

We certainly haven't done any "big things" during that weekend. But it was definitely a wonderful one. Thanks Sarah for visiting us in Oslo. It's always great to have you around and I always enjoy so much the time with you! Hope to see you again soon!
