Annette in Oslo

The new year started well!
My cousin Annette works as flight attendant for Lufthansa. Beginning of January her flight schedule brought her to Oslo, where she had relatively much free time instead of just a quick turn around time of not even an hour. Annette had arrived with the flight in Oslo quite late on Tuesday 3rd and it was only late at night when she arrived together with the crew at their hotel in the city centre of Oslo. However, her subsequent flight wasn't taking off before the evening of the next day. This was PERFECT for meeting and having a great (half) day together in Oslo :-)

I joined Annette (and the crew) in the morning for breakfast at the Radisson Blu Scandinavia hotel in the city centre of Oslo. Afterwards I took her for some sightseeing by foot through town. From the hotel to the Royal Palace...

...passing the National Theatre, then the City Hall and further on to the harbour area...
...and up to the Akershus Fortress with view on the harbour.
Then we continued via Aker Brygge to Tjuvholmen...

...before taking a tram to the Vigeland Sculpture Park. On our way from there back to the hotel, we stopped by a café in Majorstua to warm up with a cup of coffee and hot chocolate.

At around 2:30 p.m. it was already time to say goodbye. I had taken the morning off from work (in return working until late that evening), and thus had to get to the office now. Also for Annette is was soon time to get ready for the pick-up from the hotel and the transfer back to the airport.

This was such a pleasure to have my cousin here in Oslo, show her around and chat - even if just for a few hours!!! Such a pity that time went by far too quickly. It was just not enough time to catch up and chat even more. But so great to see you again, Annette! Hope to see you soon again - in Oslo, Germany, at some whatsoever airport in the world or anywhere else!
